Summer Worship Schedule
We will have ONE SERVICE @ 10am preceded by IMPORTANT indoor/outdoor fellowship @ 9:15am.
– WHEN? Sunday May 30 through Labor Day weekend (unless larger attendance numbers dictate a return to 2 services).
– WHY? The vision for our Summer Lord’s Day gatherings are three-fold: Joyous and energized worship, fellowship as one church, and critical rest.
Wednesdays @ 8am | Men’s Bible Study
All gents are invited to this weekly Bible study and time of prayer at the church. We are currently looking at the sermon text for the upcoming Lord’s Day. Bring your bible & coffee! Contact Paul Gorman with any questions.
Covenant Children Ministry Update
As we come together to worship during one service this summer the Covenant Children’s Team has made the following changes due to space and volunteer restraints:
– The nursery age will be expanded to include 1 – 3 year olds. Parents may drop children off 10 min prior to the service or after the children’s Homily, whichever best suits each family’s individual needs.
– Little Sprouts will be available during the Sermon time for ages 4 – kindergarten.
There are still many different opportunities available for all CCC members to serve the Lord and the little ones that God has entrusted to our church family. Please reach out to Chandra Carver (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you desire to help out.

Ages 12 and up are welcome; please RSVP by June 20 to email@example.com.
June 27 | Sundaes on Sunday
Parents/families, do you have a child who is ready to profess their faith in Jesus, publicly? Are you wrestling with how your covenant children understand “the body of Christ” in the Lord’s Supper? On Sunday, June 27 @ 6:30pm, we invite children and one parent/guardian to join Pastor Jim and a few elders for an ice cream sundae and a time of learning more about Baptism, the Lord’s Supper, Professing our Faith, and membership! After this event, parents who believe their children are ready to profess their faith and take the Lord’s Supper can schedule a testimony time with our elders. Please RSVP to Megan Nelson (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Women’s Summer Study
All ladies are invited to join for a Summer Study of the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew chapters 5-7). This is a 5 week study that will meet at 7pm on Monday evenings at the Thomsen home. Meeting dates are June 28, July 12, 19, 26, and Aug 9. Decaf coffee, tea, and chocolate provided. Contact Shannon Thomsen (423.557.4669, email@example.com) to RSVP or ask questions.
July 16 | “God is Not Great”
Christopher Hitchen’s book, God is not Great, represents a modern argument against religion, claiming all religions are man-made, false, and dangerous. How are we, as Christians, to consider this? How can we engage with this book & those we know who think the same? How can we respond with a biblical worldview? Grab a book out front and start reading. Then join us (whether you read or not) for our Friday evening time of teaching, discussion, and engagement, led by Dustin Clark, one of our Ruling Elders.
Please be praying for the formation of Christ Community’s missions team. Some interested people are reading When Helping Hurts by Steve Corbett and are planning to discuss it. If you are interested go ahead and start reading it and feel free to reach out to Rod Haaland, Michael Reneau or Landon Holbrook if you want to connect with others. Sincerely in Christ, your deacons.
